ATSDTC51 All That Scraps Wed. Challenge

Hey, Just gotta use the free download Crystal drew of this cutie pie doggie. He looked sheepish to me, like he messed something up. Oh like skipping a birthday. The challenge over at All That Scraps was to use the grid technique. That sounding like fun, also. Here's that entry.... I made up the sentiment. And isn't that paw print brad cute? Didn't have a ATS stamp. Hope that's OK?

Honestly?!??!

I got an award, first one ever, from Crystal. She's one of my favorite bloggers, because she always makes me smile. She even tackles hard issues with an upbeat attitude. Part of this award is to tell 10 things about me.

3. My inlaws raised the nicest person in the world, and I'm married to him.

4. We are raising two wild boys, who I hope will someday be great men.

5. I would do anything my family asked me to.

6. I love gadgets, ipods, computers, blue tooth, modems, printers, dslr cameras, all of it!

7. I scrap to remember my life, and those close to me. I like to show my kids how proud I am of them.

8. I GREW up and don't read People mag, complain about the weather, or whine about not having enough of anything, because I am a very lucky girl.

9. I buy expensive cowboy boots, and wear them with everything, and to everything, including, weddings, funerals, plays in the city, everywhere.

10. I am amazed and happy with the new friends I've made by blogging, I cherish these cyber friendships!!

Scrappy Sunday Challenge

Over at Papercraftplanet they have so many great challenges. I like the Scrappy Sunday Challenge because that seems to be a day that I don't feel guilty about scrapping. There's also a little prize on this one from Scrappadies. so that would be cool to win. sb053109 is the tag over there.

CDSWCC22

I loved the colors that Shawne used for the CDSWCC22. They are grey and pink. I have a 30 year old grey gelding I grew up with. His mother died giving birth, so my brother and I bottlefed him when I was 8. He followed us around the yard, and chased our bicycles. He's a crusty old kinda bosy horse now. But when I was 12 we rode him everyday all summer long. I like this card for my gf who always rode with me and I will save it for her birthday.

Made this for the 3-d challenge on Tuesday's at Paper Craft Planet. It's my husband's father's day "card". I just thought the pattern was so cute and had to make it.

3-D Pull Treat Card

Hi, I got in to making these cute pull-treat cards for my son's baseball team. Even though my son thinks they are too cute for big strong 17 year olds. Anyway. I used the scallop punch and circle punch from Stampin Up. Also the two star punches are stampin up. The paper is odds and ends from my huge scrap drawer. All were sized to 6.5 x 4.5 inches. The pattern in from 3-D Challenge on PCP from last week. I think this would be a fun Valentine, and also great to hide journaling on a page... I computer generated the sentiment.

Birthday Layout

It was stormy in Iowa last night, and after a great dinner together as a family, I sat down to scrap. I used In My Minds Eye paper for this double layout. Who knew I could pull off flowers and glitter for a guy birthday. But my husband is that sweet. aaaawwww. I stitched alot around the photos, and didn't stamp on this one. i enlarged the "Happy" instead of "birthday." I really like that photo of Dave by the cake. I'm going to fill out the journaling now. Thanks for looking. As always comments encourage, bring a smile, and are always a joy!

CDSWCC21

I finally got around to my card for the weekend color challenge at CDS. It'a a boy card with dark pink, yellow and orange. I think it's cool, since my youngest just bought a yellow 4 wheeler. The set is from Clear Dollar Stamps, and the paper background was precut that way. Easy shmeezy..

It's getting close to Father's Day, so I made up this card for my dad. I used the Got Tractor set from Clear Dollar Stamps. I will enter this card for a chance to be the June Guest Design Team member. I was excited to use my heat emboss tool to give the white in this card a distressed, old look. I held it over the paper to "brown" it a little. (I'm wondering if I could make smores with that thing!!) The striped paper is Basic Grey Granola. The background that has the old paper look is a paper bag that I got when i bought goodies at a boutique. Cut it up and reusing it. I love the brads that look like pearl shirt snaps, which my dad has always worn. Enjoy being with your dad or remembering him on Father's Day.

CDSWCC20

I am not quite done with field work. But we are getting close. It feels like forever since I have done a challenge. I have been taking lots of pictures, with all the activity. Anyway, jumped right in with the Clear Dollar Stamp Challenge over at PCP , my favorite challenge. Mostly because I love to see what their great design team is up to. Cassie is hosting this week, I love these colors together.
My son's friend lost his grandpa, and this card is for the baseball team to sign. They are going as a team to the visitation. That's the thing about sports, it teaches alot about beinging a good person. My son also feels for others whose grandparents are ill, as his Grandpa is fighting cancer.
Wow this got sad. anyway. heads up. there's still more beans to plant out there, and this farmgirl has got to get back at it. I used Basic Grey Granola paper for this , and the sentiments from Clear Dollar Stamps of course. The inside has the sentiment " Hoping that your Sorrow will soon be replaced with warm memories."

CDSWCC18

Happy Mother's Day! I'm enjoying some down time. Still in sweats. I made this for the Clear Dollar Stamps weekend Color Challenge. Pink, green and red. I used the cuttlebug to emboss the background. Stitiched the edges. Used the set, Charliene April Showers. I love the duckie. The background is Basic grey, Urban Prairie. Do you know they are designing fabric. (My mom is a fantastic quilter. I used to quilt but a cowgirl can only have one extra hobby.)
I went for seed yesterday, didn't want to go, but guess what happened? I found a new scrapbooking store in Albert Lea Minnesota, called Scrappin On The Go. run by Tami Marti. I love scrappers they are so nice everywhere. wish I could scrap none stop everyday. Except to ride horse.. ahhh dreaming..

Scrappy Sunday Challenge

Do you know what?ripping the edge of paper is NOT something I normally do. but here it works. This is for a challenge over at PCP called the Scrappy Sunday Challenge. This challenge gets my juices flowing to create some pages for the book. Here Tuff is working on his "challenge," a 40 year old mustang. He has welded over $600 of new metal into his car already. We are really proud of his skills. And yup, guess this hobby stuff in this family is catchy!

OCC Challenge

Hi This is one of the many Graduation cards I'm whipping up. I used the sketch over at Our Creative Corner. I love coloring in this Warrior Head, He's our mascot. I cuttlebugged the red piece, and used some brads in the corner. The stamp is from Cowtown Stamps.

sb041209

I made this up tonight. Still on my quest to scrapbook, too. I got to use some of the new goodies from Hobby Lobby. Used the same idea from the card yesterday, with the embossed silver look. ( couldn't waste all the beautiful embossedness, so underneth this picture i cut out a circle for another use!) I am operating my scrapping away from home with maybe 10% of my stuff. It's kinda freeing to know Hey that's it. quit looking for all my supplies and just SCRAP.
Products used: thickers (summer word) by American Craft, background paper basic grey, urban prairie, flowers from Petaloo, and the rest from stash. BTW this is for the Scrappy Sunday Challenge, and I think from the last week of April. Jen Tapler hosts it.

Hobby Lobby Heaven

I got caught up, and since I'm only 25 minutes from Hobby Lobby at this farm, i snuck away. tip toe tip toe, top secret mission....(sometimes you gotta turn off the cell phone)..... I hit the mother load. All the charms in the jewelry area were 50 % off. Also in that area are rinestones, which is why I really went in. To fix my western purse that lost some bling. Really, I should post a picture of all I bought. Got carried away! And one of the coolest things was these totes in red animal print to match my car, for $4.00. Love it. It's a good thing this store is 100 miles from me normally, because I can't control myself there.

Going out to mow lawn. bfn cowgirls!(bye for now)
I just looked to the right, Shawne from the CDS challenge at Paper Craft Planet is spotlighting my card!! YeeHaw, that's an honor, and from a great artist. Thanks Shawne.
Now really, computer sleep, got to mow, or maybe fence it in so I have more time to stamp!! and the horses would be REALLY close to the house, better to look at to color. hehehe

CDSWCC17

My absolute favorite part of this card was the idea to try and make the background look like engraved silver. I embossed the background, and then used silver embossing powder and the heat gun to add another layer of silver. I would like to have redone the coloring on the baby charlie, but I'm planting corn this week and NEED to go to bed before the long week ahead. I am so busy this time of year. I hauled beans to the river all last week in the semi, and today worked ground. Gotta pay for the stamping somehow! Well off to bed. BTW. my time is off by 2 hours, It's 10:15 here, Iowa time. When it rains I gotta fix that.

CDSGDC0509

OH wouldn't it be nice to be a guest design team member? YOU BET! Here's my entry for the Guest DT over at Clear Dollar Stamps. The cute pup is Cocoa the Dog set, and the puddle is from the Charliene April Showers set. The DP is from Basic Grey called Boxer. I like the 6x6 pad size, perfect for cards. I used my deckled spellbinder to make the door. and embossed the background with swiss dots. Isn't the key and door knob cute? Bought them in KC, Tim Holtz, I think. I originally made a book for my mom last year with the key and door knob.

The inside sentiment is especially for a friend who has a dog she LOVES. I saw it in a greeting card. I have to admit, sending this card will take willpower. I really want to use it to make a book for my dog. If such a book shows up on this blog in the future, you know i just couldn't sent it!

sb041909 Scrap Sunday Challenge

Hi, I decided I love to make cards, but joined this challenge at PCP to get back to scrapbooking.
This is last week's layout on the Scrappy Sunday Challenge. I am going to add some journaling to this page, I never feel it's done till i add the who what when where. I've got some 4 wheelers inked up on here from my CDS stamps. and I can't remember where i picked up the background paper. I did embossed background from the cuttlebug folder called "mesh". Looked like mud to me. I'm off to do the challenge they laid out for this Sunday. SCRAP ON!!

CDSWCC16

I was excited to find time to do the CDS Color challenge over at PCP this weekend. This is
one of my favorite images from Clear Dollar Stamps. But I enhanced her look with new boots. Also from CDS. Isn't she cute? Used my new big shot to cut the pieces and embossed paisley and rubbed yellow over. Well, off to help chaperone the after prom party for our school. My oldest is a waiter this year. Thanks for looking.

CDSWCC

Just a simple card to be in the Clear Dollar Stamp Challenge this weekend. We had a great weekend, filled with field work and my son's first prom. He went with a senior, so he'll go 2 more years. And not to our school, so traveling too. I am a busy mom this time of year, but I love my teenage boys. They are going to be great men. My mom always told me that, you are raising soon to be men.
I got the sympathy sayings for this card from CDS and the ribbon from CDS also. I really messed up the colors and didn't get the tan in there at all. I stopped at Archivers on the way through Des Moines to home today, and got some goodies. Gee I wish I wasn't 90 miles away so I could use the scrap area there. Oh well, I can stay home and have all my tools right here. I finally bought a Big Shot off of ebay, and am waiting for my spellbinders order to come. Can't Wait! This should open up all kinds of new ideas for me.

Boomer

Here's a video of the horse my son is offering for sale. Boomer is almost 3 and Tuff's first horse he's broke all by himself. (Yeah I'm proud.) He's going to fill out a lot more, as he's a young colt. Registered Quarter horse, and dun color to boot. Tuff has thrown a loop off him, gets the mail, rides through and over anything, and checks cows on him. He's not tied up here. Tuff is offering him for sale for $1000. The other horse Paige is riding(Vinny) is older and also ridden by Tuff. He needs a bit more for that horse though, priced at $2500. We road Vinny last summer.

Happy Easter

I stayed up til late working on these Easter boxes for the boys. You know how an idea gets in your head, or you see something, and you have to do it. Get it out of my head. Is that Challenge Peer Pressure? Hehe. The box is from SCS http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/gablebox/ and of course with my cowgirl flair. Thanks Crystal, for the idea how to color hair. I wanted the horses to look sorrel which is slightly red/brown. So I put red copic first then brown. She's got cute stuff at the Rustic Daisy. Thanks Girl!! The Stamps are Charlie from CDS and the background on the box is a SU wheel.what am I putting in them? teenage boys like gas cards, $ and gum.

cinemasaturday

This is for the
http://cinemasaturdaycreativechallenge.blogspot.com/ challenge is from the movie My Fair Lady. Which honestly, i haven't seen it. Now John Wayne movies, got them covered. Anyhow, i used the cards shown as inspiration. some great ideas over there. those girls are talented! I used my trusty cricut to cut the backgrounds again (accent essentials). and heat embossed the flourishes. the stamp is from Bombshell stamps( it's a cowgirl duh) but she got an Audry Hepburn look. Oh and more credit to papyrus cards. it's their saying.

cdswcc13

I got home from our northern farm, and running disc for 3 days. I was so excited to see my new clear dollar stamps. From the got tractor set. The black background is from my cricut. simple shapes, i think. And since i was in a Caterpillar tractor. used mustard color copics and just about forgot the brown alltogether.hehe so the cardstock is brown. I realy wish i had put some kind of brad in the right hand top corner to cover my sloppy stitches on top. But I got it in on time yah!!

007 Challenge!!

Wouldn't it be fun to enter a card in more than one challenge. I could feel so puter literate i wouldn't know what to do. I was bumming around PCP and found this ... http://cinemasaturdaycreativechallenge.blogspot.com/2009/03/cinema-saturday-creative-challenge-25.html Challenge because it's from my favorite movies 007. and I happen to have a Gold card when would that ever happen? They are giving away blog candy from Taylored Expressions. Which would be great to win.

Guest Designer Challenge CDS

Wohoo! Another blog entry today. This one is for the Guest Designer Challenge for Clear Dollar Stamps. It would simply be a dream to be picked, but a cowgirl never knows when something great can hapen. Like just a minute ago, my favorite neighbor brought down homemade, fresh from the oven, my diet killer, Cinnamon Rolls. Yeah, am I lucky or what??

CDSWCC12

Hi, from a snowy spring day in Iowa. and Why am I so happy? Cause I'm scrapping! Here's my entry for the CDSWCC12, which was to take your LEAST favorite color and make a monochromatic card. I do not like gold. I have no gold fixtures in my home, and feel like shiney brass is just gross. So this card is not my favorite, but I like some techniques on it. I like the mixture of stars, and the three brads I had to make gold with glitter.

Monday, March 23, 2009

OCC Challenge

OCC challenge. I haven't done one of these challenges before, but Lori from CDS is giving away $ for STAMPS!! So I had to try. Well, I pulled out the sewing machine, and can you hear the cussing? This cowgirl really doesn't like to sew anymore. Actually there's a long list that also includes cooking, and dieting. You know things you have to do, but don't like. The best part of this card is my new EK Success edge punch I bought at Michaels with a COUPON. I knew I had to make something with it tonight. Ok off to bed.

CDSWCC11

Yes another blog today! This fits with all I got done today. I am a crazy woman with this great weather. Washing windows, picking stuff in the yard, burning tree limbs, stop already. ok so now the card. I'm so excited to see brown on the color challenge so I could use this stamp set. and yuppers that's tin foil. now don't LOL, but i actually tried to bite the foil. now everytime I look at this card my teeth hurt. ouch. :-0

My boys back from "drive your tractor to school day" for FFA. 8 tractors came up town and they cruised the square.
I always keep my camera by the door, and a small digital in my purse. You never know when a good picture will come along.

FIRST DAY OF SPRING!! The calves are running in the pasture, the cat is going to have kittens, and the grass is turning green. I am TGIF and having friends down for the night. Celebrate Spring!
I might be inspired to get out some flower stamps. I might have ONE somewhere. With all boys, and being such a tomboy, i only like real flowers that smell.
enjoy my Bomb shell girls..

Made a card for birthday with Bombshell Stamps. Inside says, it's your birthday. I like the ribbon.

Monday, March 16, 2009

Yup good CLEAN fun! Tuff, Colt and friends really mudded it up sunday night. I hope the other parents aren't mad at all the extra laundry. So excited today, Laurie liked MY card for the CDS challenge from this last weekend. Praise is so fun. No wonder it works so good with the kids..hmmmm

CDSWCC10

Hi Happy Saturday night. I'm home since my oldest is out on the town, he's 16. Chasing cowgirls, i suppose. Thank goodness for my weekend color challenge from Clear Dollar Stamps. Sarah from Iowa on PCP said use your good stuff, don't save it. (I'm paraphrasing). I took it to heart and broke out these felt stars I got from the Chariton Scrapbooking store.
Check out Sarah's blog , http://auntbeespickles.blogspot.com/ . She makes beautiful cards. I love how this card turned out. He's such a cute buckskin pony, but I wish I had some black floss on hand. The mane and tail was hand stitched with embroidery floss. Then taped on the back to hold it in place when I cut and seperated the floss with my SU hole punch. We had some company over the weekend, so just got this done. And I still have 7 invitations to complete tonight. Now that the weather is officially gotten warm, we'll be riding horse every chance we get. Yeah!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I've been hard at work in scrap seclusion trying to finish up my 20 year class reunion invitations. Yes, purple and gold are our colors, but we are also doing mardi grais.

Just a quick sympathy card. Embossed the background and then sponged over the top in three shades.

CDSWCC9

CDSWCC9 Weekend CDS Color Challenge

There's a bit more "white space" in this card than I usually do. I'm not crazy about my colors. Taking a picture of your creations really points out every little fault. But I still love my horsey and those Clear Dollar Stamps.

Braces

I really like the layout for my son's braces. As soon as I found out he needed braces I started saving for them and of course finding scrapbook stuff for this page. Needless to say our dentist caters to a scrapbookers.

CDSWCC8

This is for the Clear Dollar Stamp Color Challenge. I just got this stamp and had to get some ink on it. I always make 2 cards when creating, so they each look a little different. The other one has the doors done on the inside, And don't ask how long it took to cut out the doors and haymow. Now should have put a tractor in there.

BSSPC2009

Here's my entry for the Bombshell March Challlenge. BSSPC2009

This is my card for the Clear Dollar Stamps Guest Designer Challenge. I used the Charlie Horse Baby. He's so cute. I love these colors together. SU stuff all over this card.

Here's some of the geldings I'm working with.
